Mount Dickerman

Mount Dickerman was on my list of places to go, only because it was recommended, and since I enjoyed the Mt. Forgotten hike so much, I figured Dickerman would be just as good. It is a popular trail, so you have to head out early to avoid the crowds. Which we did.

Dickerman is really nothing super special. It is a steady climb, and the first part of it is in the shade of the trees, so you stay cool. Then you start climbing up the ridge to the peak.

The nicest thing about Dickerman is the berries in the upper meadows. There were Huckleberries all over the place. They were not ripe yet, but probably will be soon.

Also, there were cliffs everywhere. Even in the cool forest, there were about 10 rock-jutting areas. Yay cliffs!

To the right is a view down Stillaguamish Peak towards Perry Creek. The trail for Perry Creek is right about, oh.... 3000 feet below? If you fell, I betcha that your remains could be scraped up by hikers on their way to Mt. Forgotten!

Isn't that comforting??

The last part of the trail on the upper meadows is kinda steep. Sure, you get views, but if you are slightly grumpy, they don't do much.

The views from here are basically the same as from Mt. Forgotten, except you can see more to the South. Expecially Big Four (left) and Little Chief, Vesper, & Sperry Peaks (right)

One view you don't get from Mt. Forgotten, is the view of Mt. Forgotten from somewhere else. This was taken from our lunch spot, on top the peak.

You had great views, complete with 3 volcanoes! Baker, Glacier, and Even Rainier were visable. The only shot that really came out was Glacier. So, here is picture #2413 posted of Glacier Peak.

There were some people who beat us up there, but they left before we got to the cliff, and we had a few minutes of solitude up there.

One of the trails I have to do this year is the Goat Flats/Tin Can Gap/ Three Fingers trail. I HAVE TO! Three Fingers is one of my favorite peaks, and it is shown below. It is the 3-peak pointy thing to the left. Look at the bigger picture to see it better.

This picture was taken from the Mount Forgotten trail. This shows you where we ended up. Daaaaamn.

Dickerman was a good hike, but nothing special. I've done it, and now it is out of the way. Enjoyable, Nice views, not many bugs. We brought a bowl of blueberries to eat for lunch, and none of the wiley berries escaped our clutches! Mwah ha ha ha!
