Ok, so this was a nice hike. It was snowing pretty heavy, so the trail changed drastically later on.

Not too long after the trailhead, you run into this. This is a mossy rocky waterfall. You can't get much better than this.

After that, you find a lovely reminder that rocks are very heavy, and they will obliterate man's crap whenever they feel like it. Can you say... Bridge was out?

Below is the normal trail, at least for a while.....

Somewhere around here is the tree below. Look at it and tell me what it looks like to you.

Chicken legs! Nature is kewl...

Before long, you find the falls. Very nice ones, too.

After the final view of the falls, the trail started to get really snowy as you entered into a nice meadow.

These trees were COOOOOL! Frosty!

After the meadow, it got really snowy. We're talking 10 feet of snow. This picture doesn't really show it.

What do you do when you find fresh, perfect snow? You build a snowman, of course! I made it myself!!

Close to the end of the trail, we ran across these fresh bunny tracks. Little bunny was hopping up and down these snow piles, and was not slipping! Until later. We found a spot where it must has slipped, because there were bunny butt tracks down the side of a snow pile. :)

Skwewy wabbit....

Finally, we made it to the lake, despite the attempts to thwart us. Stubborn? Yes. It was snowing at a pretty good clip.

Good hike. It was a nice wintery outting. Sure would like to have seen what it looks like without 10' of snow. Maybe go back in late spring.

Well, I found out what it looks like without 10 feet of snow. I didn't build a snowman, nor were there any bunny tracks, but we did go and have a good time. We remembered all the silly things we did the first time we were there.

We were at the lake with only 1 other couple, and it was certainly not as snowy as it was last time.

Go back to the main hiking page!

Go back to Seattle...
