My word. I really need to get these pages out sooner. Here it is, February, and I am post a hiking page that should have been done 5 months ago. Needless to say, my memory of this hike is not what it was then, so this should be short and sweet.

September 15. Only 4 days after the terrorist attacks to the World Trade Center and Pentagon, and the crashed plan in Pennsylvania. The calamity of it all was hardly even known at that time. You couldn't do anything but watch the news. There were no sports, no programs, and no news coverage that did not talk about the death toll or who was at fault. Planes were still not going anyway in a timely fashion, airport security was tighter that Ebenezer's butt hole. We needed an escape. So, Sunny and I escaped to the mountains, to the American Alps. The North Cascade National Park. What a good idea it was. We were not the only ones with this thought since the parking lot was quite busy.

The trail is a nice one. You ALWAYS have views, from the parking lot to the glaciers up top.

Unfortunately, I don't remember enough to babble on about it, so I'll just post some pictures.

Below is where we were going.

And, as you can tell by the picture to the right, we made it most of the way before I turned gooberish.

We also met some friends along the way.
